We are thrilled to announce that Afro*disiac Live Radio has been awarded a £5,000 grant from the SNG Sovereign Network Group – Thriving Communities Fund to launch a series of Free Community Radio & DJ Workshops for young people aged 11-18! 🎉🎧
Starting this November, these workshops will offer local youth the unique opportunity to learn the art of DJing and radio broadcasting in a fun, creative, and supportive environment. Whether they’re passionate about music, interested in radio production, or just looking for a new hobby, this program is designed to empower young people with practical skills and inspire them to pursue their creative potential.
Why This Matters
At Afro*disiac Live Radio, we believe in the power of community. Our radio station has always been a platform to uplift voices, share diverse stories, and bring people together through music. With this grant, we can take our mission even further by providing young people in our community with access to creative education that might otherwise be out of reach.
We understand how important it is to invest in the next generation, especially in today’s fast-paced digital world. These workshops will not only teach essential technical skills but also build confidence, teamwork, and creativity—qualities that are key to thriving in any field.
What to Expect
Our workshops will cover:
DJ skills: Mixing, beatmatching, and creating sets
Radio broadcasting: From hosting shows to using studio equipment
Creative expression: Encouraging participants to find their unique voice and style
All sessions will be led by experienced DJs and radio hosts, ensuring that young participants get hands-on experience in a real-world setting.
