We’ve got some great new Afro-fusion for you this Wednesday!
UK-based Afropop and afro-fusion artist Sean Dampte is excited to unveil his massive new single titled “Pepe,” which features fellow UK-based afro-fusion artist Nizzy and rising Nigerian star Buju.
A staple fixture in the rising UK Afrobeat scene, Dampte has received praise for his “stellar fusion of Afrobeat, Dancehall and Pop music”. This can be heard in hits such as “Allignment”, “You Can Call Me”, “Energy” and “2Nite” which we advise you check out immediately.
This new single is lifted from Dampte’s upcoming “Awoodah” EP series and he had this to say about the track:
“Sometimes you find it difficult to express yourself around people. ‘Pe’ being a yoruba word meaning complete and ‘pepper’ a street slang in Nigeria depicting money and loads of it. I wanted to express how I would let a woman know I can complete and upgrade everything around her. Having Buju and Nizzy on the remix also spirals the appeal to a different level. PePe is a feel-good and masterful work of artistry that brings the listener’s attention to the melody and delivery which subconsciously provides the listener with a fulfilled experience and that is why PePe is Pe Pe.” – Sean Dampte
We’re really digging Dampte’s stuff at the minute but what do you think? Let us know on our socials!
Have a great Wednesday!
