Trap-Dancehall heavy hitters Squash, Daddy1 and TeeJay alongside Ishawna, Christopher Martin, and Ace Gawd unite on the ‘Different Rankin’ Riddim album, out now on VP Records. Produced by two of Jamaica’s top producers, Hempton Music and ShabDon Records, the video for the original by Squash landed at the beginning of August. It quickly amassed over 2 million views on YouTube and is proving hugely popular within the dancehall community.
Gaining popularity among artists as well as fans, VP invited artists to version the Squash original, resulting in the tracks you can hear today by Daddy1, Teejay, Christopher Martin, Noah Powa. Ishawna, Gage and new artists like JDon Heights & Ace Gawd.
Squash’s original featured on VP’s renowned Reggae Gold 2020 compilation, which came out at the end of August. It’s one of the album’s standout tracks alongside Spice’s’Inches’, Konshens’ ‘Nah Leave U’ & Noah Powa’s ‘Spend Nuff Money’.
