Ghanian singer, songwriter and producer KiDi releases a reworked version of his standout single “Touch It”, this time enlisting guest duties from revered rapper, TYGA. “Touch It” is taken from KiDi’s award-winning second album ‘The Golden Boy’, which is currently the highest streamed album of all time from a Ghanian artist on Spotify.
The body of work includes top-tier tunes from Ghanian rapper Joey B and Nigerian dancehall singer/songwriter Patoranking and vibrant Ghanian singer/songwriter Kuami Eugene. KiDi – real name Denis Nana Dawmena – continues to be one of West Africa’s most established talents and sits as Exec Producer on the record, producing 6 tracks and sharing production credits on the other 8 with notable producers such as Guiltybeatz.
Speaking on the video/collaboration – which was shot between Accra and L.A, by Ghanian director and previous KiDi collaborator ‘Rex’, the pair quote – “We both have loved being on set together for this epic moment; the creation of our first work together, but with so many moving pieces, we had to pivot and come up with another plan. Thankfully we’re in a creatively advanced space where our visions can be brought to life despite being thousands of miles apart. The video represents how the song makes us feel and how we hope it makes others feel; excited, sexy and in the right mood to party up a storm”.
