Mnelia “My Bad”

(Parlophone)

Produced by TSB, who has also produced tracks for the likes of Headie One, Dave and Stormzy to name a few, My Bad is a girly anthem, channelling ultimate 90s R&B vibes

The record depicts Mnelia moving on from a past relationship that she was wronged in. Throughout the record she’s telling the person who was once a love interest to stop being obsessed with her as he had his chance and now it’s over. She’s cutting all ties and she’s tired of him trying to get in touch with her family and friends post break-up.

Mnelia describes her music as sitting in 3 categories:

Bad B*tch Anthems – feel good tracks that encourage her fans to scream (strikethrough) sing at the top of their lungs in whatever is the equivalent to that ‘hairbrush moment’ nowadays and which focus on topical subjects that most may find difficult to articulate

Late Night Drives – laid back vibes that you can cruise around the city to of a late night

Feels – heartbreak, emotion feels!

My Bad sits within the Bad B*tch Anthems category

The 90s R&B/Romance inspired video, was shot by director Terry Paul on the island of Antigua – think J-Lo Love Don’t Cost A Thing / Ashanti – Rock With You vibes

Following on from the release of My Bad, Mnelia will release 3 new singles leading into the EP release in November
