‘Cinderella’ follows on from her latest smash ‘Kryptonite’ and comes complete with an incredible official video, directed by C Capone [Headie One, Ms Banks]. Taking us on a journey through a day dream where Darkoo transforms into a modern-day princess Cinderella, she even swaps out the traditional glass slipper for a glass Air Force One sneaker. Speaking on the track Darkoo explains:
“ This track is a reminder that you can be whatever you want to be everyone knows the story of Cinderella, never look at yourself as the underdog as you never know how much your life can change. It’s about embracing who you are and creating the best version of yourself.”
With dreams of becoming a footballer before signing up to study engineering at university, Darkoo’s path took an unexpected turn after exploding onto the scene with the anthemic track ‘Gangsta’ featuring One Acen — a track that peaked at #22 on the UK Singles Chart at the back end of 2019 to give Darkoo her first UK Top 40 record.
