Fresh off the high from her most recent single “Boyfriend”, South-East London based singer and songwriter Summer Banton teases the upcoming single “Superfan”, Summer Banton will be releasing the brand new track, with a message perfect for that ʻclingy exʼ. The single is gifted to listeners with a fun, sexy, yet chic visual, led by creative director Elise Thompson, and packed with infectious dance routines throughout that will get viewers on their feet. Effortlessly staying true to her late 90s and early 2000s influences,“Superfan” embodies Summerʼs distinctive flavour, her notably enchanting aesthetic and ability to create an empowering track for the ladies.
Speaking on the making of the new single, Summer says, ʻSuperfan was such a fun song to make, it felt like it wrote itself so easily. It was my first time meeting ELEVATED and the vibe came naturally. We made the perfect song for Summertime and wanted to remind everybody that if you have an ex that tries to get you back – theyʼre just a superfan!ʼ
Touching on the making of the video, she continues, ʻThe “Superfan” visual was a labour of love to plan and shoot. The inspiration came from all of the Nickelodeon and Disney TV shows I grew up on. We wanted to make something funny and lighthearted but also fierce and had to throw in choreography to tie it all together. Could be my favourite visual yet!ʼ
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, and Lauryn Hill to name a few, Summerʼs unique artistry effortlessly creates room for her to weave together classic R&B sounds with a modern twist.
