Canadian artist Jenna Bennett has teamed up with UK producer DJ Q on her brand new single “Don’t Care”. Showcasing her soulful, powerful, and expressive vocals, the song features resonant synths, energetic beats and a pulsating bass on a UK Garage beat. Jenna’s vocals take center stage, delivering catchy melodies and authentic and relatable lyrics that mirror the challenges of everyday life we all experience.
Jenna made a bold and inspiring move to London, England in summer 2023, with a passion to immerse herself in the city’s legendary music scene. Experiencing London life and being in a new city brought “Don’t Care” to life. Since moving to London, Jenna has grown her TikTok following from 1500 to 118K in just 4 months. Her courage and vulnerability in sharing her experiences and music on TikTok has captured the hearts of UK fans.
Alongside the track, Jenna shares a music video shot in Toronto, Canada which takes on a cool, energetic vibe, showcasing Jenna’s relatability and powerful presence.
Talking about the inspiration for the new track, Jenna shares: “I was feeling frustrated, living in a society that put’s so much pressure on life; to the point where you feel like you’re drowning. Pressure to be perfect, make no mistakes and caring about what others are saying or thinking. This song is about refusing to let these pressures take control of you in a confident, fun, freeing kind of way.”
DJ Q is a well-known and respected UK music producer and DJ from Huddersfeild, England (1xtra, Kiss FM UK, Local Action Records). Working with DJ Q inspired Jenna to push the boundaries of making music with no limitations, purely on feeling and emotion, Jenna shares: “We clicked right away and had so much fun working together, it was so natural and effortless.” The combined talents of Jenna and DJ Q promise a sound that will make people want to move and sing!
With a natural love for music at a young age, Jenna explored her creativity throughout her youth and began making music at 15 years old. Releasing singles in 2018 and 2019, Jenna spent 2020 working on her craft and released her single “Rhythm of You” in 2021. In 2022 she released her single “Nothing More to Say” through UK label New State Music. On the cusp of something big, this singer- songwriter is excited to breakthrough into the music scene.
