The Weekly Roundup

Welcome to The Weekly Roundup! We’ll be sharing the latest music we are loving and what you should have in your headphones at the moment.

This week we’ve been loving some new releases from artists on Def Jam Records!

Our personal favourite is a track from Saint Bodhi Hurt Like Me. Cover art pictured top left.

“This song is for anyone who’s ever been wronged by their partner and wishes they could break every window and slash every tire.” – Saint Bodhi

Harnessing sounds from her roots in Los Angeles as well as New York and Atlanta, Saint Bodhi’s got a fervid flow that’s been burning hot with fans. With a natural knack for storytelling Bodhi  has become known as a reputable songwriter in R&B and hip-hop and having worked with the likes Beyonce, A$AP Rocky, Jaden Smith, Erykah Badu and Kiana Lede, Bodhi is a forced to be reckoned with.

Also on our airwaves is Los Angeles Latino recording artist OHNO. Cover art pictured top right. Known for his unique bilingual hip-hop blend, we’ve been loving his latest release ‘Tu’.

With “Tu” OHNO wanted to make it more poppy than his usual sound, while still talking about the things he’s passionate about. In this case, it’s love.’– Flaunt Magazine, June 2021

Arkansas-born rapper GOON DES GARCONS has recently dropped his new album Sheesh! With influences including Kayne West, Kid Cudi and FatManKey, GOON DES GARCONS post-modern hip-hop is making heads turn all around the globe. Cover art pictured bottom left.

Pictured bottom right is the latest release from Fredo Bang – Trust Issues (Remix) with NLE Choppa. Fredo’s melodic meld of trap and hip hop caught Def Jam’s attention and after signing with the label, he issued 2020’s Most Hated, which marked the rapper’s first appearance on the Billboard 200.

Fredo Bang collaborated with GOON DES GARCONS on a track from his record Sheesh!. The track is called 5AM and is available across all major streaming platforms.

We will be spinning all of these artists on our Weekly Roundup, airing Monday’s 4-6pm on Afro*Disiac Live Radio. Tune in to catch all the tunes listed above plus many more!
